This year saw me splitting time between London and extended stays in Sydney and San Francisco, while diving deep into emerging technologies and maintaining my passion for discovering new venues.

2008 was a year of remarkable contrasts and firsts, spanning from the ancient pyramids of Mexico to the dramatic fjords of Norway, from festival fields to medieval castles. While my documented travels show just four months of geotagged locations, the year included significant explorations across three continents and numerous first-time experiences.

In 2008, I documented 210 posts across several main categories: dining and drinks (78 posts), travel (42 posts), technology and gadgets (35 posts), entertainment (30 posts), and personal updates (25 posts). Looking back, it was a year marked by significant international travel, a growing fascination with emerging technology, and an ever-deepening exploration of London’s culinary scene.

Looking back at 2007, it was quite a transformative year for me, with 136 blog posts spanning across several main categories: technology purchases (42 posts), entertainment and events (38 posts), dining and drinks (28 posts), travel (15 posts), and technology commentary (13 posts).

Looking back at my 2006 blog posts, it’s been quite an eventful year filled with extensive travel, countless restaurant explorations, tech gadget acquisitions, and cultural experiences. Out of my 304 total posts, approximately 115 were about dining and drinks (38%), 75 about travel (25%), 60 about technology and gadgets (20%), and the remainder covering movies, events, and daily life.

Looking back at 2005, it’s been quite a packed year living in London and documenting my experiences through 259 blog posts.

The most frequent categories were travel (31%), technology/gadgets (25%), entertainment (20%), dining/nightlife (15%), and personal updates (9%). This was a transformative year as I continued settling into life in London while maintaining my connection to the tech and blogging communities.

Looking back at 2003, I published 518 blog posts covering a wide range of topics, with aviation (82 posts), technology (76 posts), and travel (65 posts) being the dominant themes. My writing documented significant transitions - both personal and technological - during a transformative year that saw me relocate from Sydney to London.

Looking back at my blogging activity in 2002, I published 613 posts across various categories including aviation (92 posts), technology (156 posts), blogging/web development (78 posts), entertainment (65 posts), travel (82 posts), and personal/career reflections (140 posts). The remaining posts covered miscellaneous topics like current events, photography, and random observations.

This was quite a transformative year for me, both personally and professionally. At 26, I found myself navigating the aftermath of the dot-com bubble while maintaining my role at Dimension Data (formerly Com Tech), where I marked my 5-year anniversary. The tech industry was going through massive changes - we watched as many promising startups imploded, with companies like Bullant and corProcure struggling to survive.

After analyzing my 557 blog posts from 2000, I can see it was quite an eventful year covering technology, space exploration, gaming, and Sydney’s Olympic moment. Let me break down my key focus areas and reflect on what made this year particularly interesting.

Looking back at my blog posts from 1999, I published 349 entries across various categories including technology, web design, internet culture, and local Sydney events. My posts primarily focused on emerging web technologies, the evolving design scene, and the rapid growth of internet businesses during the dot-com boom.

Looking back at my early blog posts, I documented 6 significant locations across 3 countries: New Zealand (2 posts), Australia (1 post), and the United States (3 posts). The posts span nearly a decade, from 1987 to 1996, with a particular concentration of activity in the Pacific region during the mid-1990s. 33% of my documented travels were in New Zealand, while 50% focused on California, USA, suggesting a strong draw toward the Pacific coast regions.
